Our second annual Midnight Sun Run was not so sunny. It was more like a midnight run in the rain. It started really well with me losing the truck key in a crowd of 4000 crazy people. The key was supposed to stay in my shoe...it did not. Just as the race began I realized it was no longer in my shoe and I tried to find it. By the time I reached the announcer a lady was walking up with the key. She found it! Thank heaven! 10 minutes later I was trailing behind, to say the least. All the encouragement from the people on the side lines was nice though. I think they felt sorry for me. "You keep going! You can do this!" ...and I was less than a mile into it. My goal was to run the whole way without stopping. It may have been hard to recognize it as a run at times, but my feet didn't stop moving.
After finishing the race we rode our bikes back to the starting line where the truck was parked. Thankfully I had the key!

Lisa, that is awesome!!! Seriously, what a great job you guys! You have great determination. Who would want to finish with a start like that, right?! I do have a question for you...have you been training? I assume you have, what are you doing? Just running? I would have loved to have a workout/running partner. It's too bad we didn't get that chance! Again, great job on your runs. Keep it up!
Amazing times for both of you!!! Yeah, sorry I'm a lame-o by not making it there after all, but trust me it wouldn't have been pretty.
