Okay so it was about a month ago now but on March 28th Lisa and I went to a punk show. We heard friday night that the Bouncing Souls were in town and that they were gonna play a show Saturday night. Well within 2 hours of the news we had rearranged my work schedule, gotten a babysitter and purchased the tickets. It's not everyday the Bouncing Souls come to Fairbanks, in fact they have never been to Alaska. They were on their 20 year anniversary tour and almost didn't make it here because of Mt. Redoubt which erupted 20 years ago and was becoming active again. Coincidence? Anyways the show was great. There was maybe a hundred people there, if that. We were right up front litterally within 4 or 5 ft. of the band. There was no back door to get on and off stage so they walked right by us. Lisa says the bass player winked at her during the show. After the show we took a poster off the bathroom door and just happened to see "the pete" who is the lead guitar player so we chatted with him and had him sign our poster. It was alot of fun but it made us feel really old. I am sure most of the audience was trying to figure out whose parent we were. At least we are still young at heart and we are not too old to be scared of a mosh pit at a punk rock show.
