Well a week or so ago me and my buddy Jon spent three days and two nights in the Denali Backcountry. The first day we hiked out about 6 miles down a gravel bar and then up a ridgeline to the top of a mountain. We set up camp and it rained pretty heavily that night. The next day we spent our time exploring the ridges and then hiked down some ridges to a creek to get some water. We spent the night again and then hiked out the next day. The scenery was amazing and we had a great time. Did not see much wildlife once off the bus but we did stalk a caribou for a little bit. Hope you enjoy the pictures.
One of the many, many river crossings that we made over the East Fork of the Toklat River = 3 days of cold wet boots.
Jon and I on our ascent up the mountain. This is while we were still in the tundra which is difficult to hike through, once we got to the ridge it was much easier. It took quite a while to balance our camera in the tree to take this picture.
The East Fork of the Toklat River that we hiked along.
One of the two Dall Sheep skulls we ran across. We also saw several Moose sheds and a Caribou skull.
