So it took some (well, quite a bit) of encouraging and reassuring to get Lisa to go dipnetting with me but I finally convinced her. Luckily she heard all of the horror stories of people dying and such after we went. We drove the 4-wheeler down the perilous trail along the canyon edge down to our fishing spot monday night and arrived at about 8 pm. Lisa put her net in and swept it down river and 5 seconds later pulled it out with a fish. Unfortunately it didn't work that well the whole time. We fished till 10 pm and got 14 fish. The next day we fished from 4 am till 10 am and got 21 more fish for a total of 35. We took them to the creek where we gutted and filleted them. Then drove home sleep deprived but happy that we were alive and that we had a cooler full of fish to keep us fed during the long Alaskan winter that is just around the corner.
